Blow my skull
Blow my skull: Rum, Porter or ale, Brandy, Boiling water, Lime or lemon juice and Sugar. Served in a punch bowl. Garnish: none.
The Spec
- 1 pint Rum
- 1 pint Porter or ale
- 1/2 pint Brandy
- 2 pints Boiling water
- to taste Lime or lemon juice
- to taste Sugar
Method
Dissolve the sugar in the boiling water in a large bowl, then stir in the lime or lemon juice. Add the porter (or ale), rum and brandy and stir to combine. Historically served warm (it's built on boiling water); the standard modern serve is to refrigerate until chilled and serve over ice in small cups. It is a very strong shared punch, not a single-serve drink.
Served in a punch bowl. Garnish: none.
