Chicago cocktail
Chicago cocktail: Cognac, Orange curaçao, Angostura Bitters and Brut champagne / sparkling wine , to top. Served in a coupe glass.
The Spec
- 60 ml Cognac / brandy
- 7.5 ml Orange curaçao
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 45 ml Brut champagne / sparkling wine , to top
Method
Prep a chilled coupe or flute with a sugar rim (rub the outer edge with a lemon slice, dip in superfine/caster sugar). Stir (or shake) the cognac, curaçao and bitters with ice for ~30 seconds, then strain into the chilled sugar-rimmed glass. Top with chilled brut champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Served in a coupe glass. Garnish: sugar rim (lemon slice + superfine sugar) and a lemon twist.
