Navy Grog
Navy Grog: Light/white Puerto Rican rum, Dark Jamaican rum, Gold Demerara rum, Lime juice, White grapefruit juice, Club soda and Honey mix.
The Spec
- 30 ml Light/white Puerto Rican rum
- 30 ml Dark Jamaican rum
- 30 ml Gold Demerara rum
- 22.5 ml Fresh lime juice
- 22.5 ml Fresh white grapefruit juice
- 22.5 ml Club soda
- 30 ml Honey mix
Method
Shake all ingredients with ice cubes, then strain into a double old-fashioned glass holding a cone of crushed/shaved ice, with a straw run through the cone. (Note: some sources, including VinePair, flash-blend for ~5 seconds instead of shaking; both methods are used in tiki bars, but the original Don the Beachcomber / Beachbum Berry spec is shaken.)
Served in an old-fashioned glass. Garnish: signature cone of crushed/shaved ice with a straw pushed through it.
