Widow's Kiss
Widow's Kiss: Calvados, Benedictine, Yellow Chartreuse and Angostura Bitters. Served in a coupe glass.
The Spec
- 45 ml Calvados / apple brandy
- 22.5 ml Bénédictine D.O.M
- 22.5 ml Yellow Chartreuse
- 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
Method
Stir all ingredients with ice for 15-30 seconds, then strain into a chilled coupe / cocktail glass. (Historical note: George Kappeler's 1895 original specified shaking, but modern practice — and this all-spirits build — favors stirring.)
Served in a coupe glass. Garnish: maraschino cherry (lemon peel is a common alternative).
