Bumbo
Bumbo: Dark rum, Water, Sugar, Cinnamon and Nutmeg, freshly grated. Served in a mug. Garnish: pinch of freshly grated nutmeg (and cinnamon) on top.
The Spec
- 60 ml Dark rum
- 30 ml Water
- 2 cubes Sugar
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Nutmeg, freshly grated
Method
Build/stir: combine the dark rum, water and sugar in the serving vessel and stir until the sugar fully dissolves. Stir in (or dust over) the cinnamon and nutmeg. Traditionally served straight, without ice. (Note: some modern sites instead shake over ice and strain — historically Bumbo predates easy ice, so a stirred/built preparation is more authentic.)
Served in a mug. Garnish: pinch of freshly grated nutmeg (and cinnamon) on top.
